As a forever Game Master/Dungeon Master, I have created a multitude of worlds for my players to experience, which I have included here as part of my portfolio.
The World of Akolia
Many of my D&D Campaigns have found themselves in my custom setting - the World of Akolia. A mix of classic D&D fantasy, paired with a deep history and filled with mysteries, most of my campaigns are set not only in the same world, but within a shared timeline, where certain campaigns oftentimes effect campaigns after, making the world feel more alive than ever before.
The Continent of Imora
At least three of my different campaigns have begun in various towns across Imora, including in Arkwell, a major port city set just outside of the Capitol city of Tolis, Barmwich, a small town on the river, as well as Exord, which became known for the Exord Expo (and later the Arson of the Exord Expo).
Thankfully, a group of brave adventurers not only located the mysterious cult in the sewers of Exord, but also managed to put a stop to a recent Ooze invasion that was related to the sewers as well. Even so, the threat of the cult still remains, and the adventurers have gone off to Arkwell to follow a letter discovered on one of the bodies of the cult members.
The Exord Expo
The Expo was designed as an homage to the 1964-1965 World's Fair, as well as the Chicago World's Fair in particular. Some of my internal notes as a Dungeon Master are below:
The Exposition rotates every three years, with several continents and kingdoms vying to hold the exposition, as a showcase of their latest and greatest technology.
There are several continents and kingdoms represented at the Expo this year, including the Oguayne, Aetherians, Sigorans, Valvorians, the Crabia Kingdom, the Caetish Empire, Degrexians, and a small bit of representation from Syssl'than.
Our story begins on the continent of Imora, 437 years after the unraveling changed the world forever. Your travels have brought you to the edge of the Caetish Empire, in what is normally a bustling port called Exord, located on the Kestian Sea. It is a time of elongated peace for the Empire, ruling most of Imora with little worries. To that end, it was no surprise when the Caetish Empire was selected to host the 28th Exposition, a showcase of advancement from across the known world. Exord is no longer simply a busy trading port, having instead been transformed over the past year into the breeding grounds of innovation. What once were barren fields, now hold grand buildings preparing for the arrival of inventors, magicians, and purveyors of greatness from across the world. Our story picks up on the eve of this grand exposition, deep in the heart of the city proper...
Expo Information:
The Expo is divided into districts, each with their own theme. These Districts include:
The Spellbound District, The Marketplace, The Cultural Parkway, The Entertainment District , The Science District, The Technology District and The Dining District.
Spellbound District
The Astral Observatory- A fairly large building which houses special tomes which create a zero-gravity environment. Guests are invited in and have to complete jumps in zero gravity to collect hoops. If they collect enough, they receive moonstone.
Brifgood’s Row - A series of small shops and local merchants from Exord and the surrounding towns of the Caetish Empire.
Necromercy - A magical group focused on curing and helping those with inflictions pass peacefully. Specializes in Werewolves, Vampires, Zombies, etc.
Terrachante - Earth Magic, containing various flowers, seeds, herbs.
Marketplace
The Marketplace is filled with rows upon rows of shops, filled with various vendors from across the world, selling various trinkets.
Entertainment District
The Entertainment district is filled with three main theaters, as well as a general concessions stand.
The Timekeeper: A show about Sigora and its history. It uses animatronics.
Harp and Helm: If players enter this show, it begins as an opera, before Harpy’s reveal themselves and begin to attack. The audience clears out, and players can jump on stage to fight the harpies.
Kobold Cabaret: A show produced by Exord that has various songs heard around the empire, sung in multiple languages.
